Light Armored Fiber Cable – Steel Tape

The 250μm fibers are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound.A steel wire, sometimes sheathed by polyethylene (PE)for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member.Tubes and possible fillers are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core.Corrugated steel tape is applied around the cable core, which is filled with the filling compound to protect it from water ingress. Then, the cable is sheathed by PE material.

Light Armored Fiber Cable – Steel Tape

GYTS Stranded Loose Tube Light-Armored Fiber Optic Cable (2-288 Cores)

Reliable High-Speed Connectivity with Corrugated Steel Armor

The GYTS Light-Armored Fiber Optic Cable is the professional choice for robust outdoor and indoor communication networks. Designed with a stranded loose tube structure and reinforced with corrugated steel tape, this cable offers the perfect balance of flexibility and mechanical protection. It is specifically engineered to handle the rigors of duct laying and aerial installations while ensuring your data transmission remains uninterrupted by environmental factors.

Key Product Features

  • Corrugated Steel Tape Armor: Features a longitudinal steel tape layer that provides excellent crush resistance and a physical barrier against rodents, ensuring long-term underground and duct durability.
  • Superior Waterproofing: The $250\mu m$ fibers are protected within high-modulus plastic tubes filled with water-resistant ointment. The cable core gaps are further packed with a filling compound to prevent any water ingress.
  • Metallic Central Strength Member: A high-tensile steel wire core provides the structural backbone, allowing for higher pulling tension during installation without risking fiber breakage.
  • Weatherproof PE Sheath: Wrapped in a high-density Polyethylene (PE) jacket, this cable is UV-resistant and built to survive extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C.
  • High Fiber Density: Capable of housing anywhere from 2 to 288 cores, making it an adaptable solution for everything from small office links to massive municipal backbones.

Professional Applications

  • Duct Laying: Optimized for smooth pulling through underground conduit systems.
  • Long-Distance Telecommunications: Designed for backbone networks and trunk line installations.
  • Interoffice Communication: Ideal for high-capacity data links between servers and buildings.
  • Non-Self-Supporting Aerial: Perfect for overhead deployment when used with a messenger wire.

Inside the Build

  1. Outer Sheath: Rugged PE for environmental protection.
  2. Corrugated Steel Tape: Provides mechanical protection and moisture barrier.
  3. Loose Tube: Protects the fibers from stress.
  4. Fiber Jelly: Secondary water-blocking layer.
  5. Central Strength Member: Provides tensile integrity.
  6. Ripcord: Ensures easy stripping for faster termination.

Why GYTS? Unlike non-armored cables, the GYTS series offers the mechanical “toughness” required for industrial environments while remaining lightweight enough for easy handling. It is the ideal middle-ground for projects requiring steel protection without the extreme weight of heavy-duty direct-burial cables.
