Steel Wire Armored Fiber Cable – Direct Buried | Manufacturer

The 250μm fibers are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound.A steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE)for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member.Tubes and possible fillers are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core.An Aluminum tape is applied around the cable core, which is filled with the filling compound to protect it from water ingress. Then the cable core is covered with a thin PE inner sheath. After the corrugated steel tape is longitudinally applied over the inner sheath, the cable is sheathed by PE material.

Steel Wire Armored Fiber Cable – Direct Buried | Manufacturer

GYTA53+33 Ultra-Heavy Duty Armored Fiber Optic Cable (2-288 Cores)

The Ultimate Solution for Underwater, Slopes, and Extreme Terrain

When standard armoring isn’t enough, the GYTA53+33 provides the highest level of mechanical protection available. This cable features a unique Single Layer Steel Wire Armor (SWA) on top of traditional steel tape, specifically designed for high-tension environments. Whether you are laying fiber across steep mountain slopes, through underwater channels, or in high-pressure direct burial sites, this cable is engineered to survive where others fail.

Key Product Features

  • Triple-Layer Protection: Combines an aluminum moisture barrier, corrugated steel tape, and a heavy-duty single layer of steel wire. This provides industry-leading crush and impact resistance.
  • Extreme Tensile Strength: Built to withstand massive pulling forces of up to 10,000N (Long-term) and 20,000N (Short-term), making it ideal for vertical climbs and deep-water pulls.
  • Harsh Environment Specialist: Specifically optimized for “climbing slopes” and “underwater” applications where shifting terrain or water pressure requires extra structural integrity.
  • Complete Water Blocking: Uses a multi-stage waterproofing system including fiber jelly, cable jelly, and an aluminum tape moisture barrier to ensure zero water ingress.
  • Steel Strength Member: Features a solid metallic center core to maintain cable shape and support high fiber counts (up to 288 cores) without signal loss.

Extreme-Grade Applications

  • Underwater & Submerged: Perfect for river crossings or marshland where moisture and pressure are constant.
  • Steep Slopes & Mountains: The steel wire armor prevents cable “creep” and damage in vertical or high-gradient installations.
  • Deep Direct Burial: Withstands heavy soil pressure and industrial-level mechanical risks.
  • High-Risk Rodent Areas: The triple-layer metallic shield provides a near-impenetrable barrier against even the largest rodents.

Anatomy of the GYTA53+33

  1. Outer PE Sheath: High-density, UV-resistant jacket.
  2. Steel Wire Armor: A layer of circular steel wires for extreme tensile and crush support.
  3. Corrugated Steel Tape: Provides the primary mechanical and rodent barrier.
  4. Inner PE Sheath: Protects the moisture-sensitive core.
  5. Aluminum Tape: Provides a high-performance longitudinal moisture seal.
  6. Central Strength Member: Solid metallic wire for backbone stability.

Why choose the +33 version? While the standard GYTA53 is great for flat burial, the GYTA53+33 is a specialized engineering feat for projects that involve elevation changes or water hazards. If your installation involves steep hills or high-tension pulling, this is the only cable for the job.

Note: For standard direct burial on flat terrain without extreme tension requirements, please see our standard GYTA53 listing.
